Secondary SCHOOL: PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

My life is devoted to education. My career has taken me to many paths: from private schools to graduate schools, classrooms to administrative offices, instructorship to tenured professorship, school reformer in Korea to a visiting scholar in the United States and Canada. As an educator, my drive and success originates from the lessons I learned as a youth in the Korean rural neighbourhoods, where sweat outbid brains as tools of trade in the workplace. During the course of my scholastic career, I experienced struggle and joy, patience and humility, challenge and achievement. I consider these experiences my calling to serve for the betterment of the human character, for it is through them that I have grown as a human being and as a professional educator.

A few years ago, while pursuing my studies in the field of sociolinguistics at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Toronto, I realized that my chosen path was taking another turn: it was time for me to discover a new educational medium through which I could contribute my experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for learning more fully. With this in mind, I accepted the title and responsibility of principal of Queen's College.

Queen's College is a place where virtue and discipline are paramount. These principles are realized through academic practice and it is our aim to spread them to every corner of the globe.
